The Antwerp branch of KH Engineering has moved to new business remises on Roderveldlaan in Antwerp-Berchem on 15 November. This move is much more than a new address, as the concept of the new office is also the next step in hybrid working, a process that was already initiated in 2014.

The move to a brand new office has been taken by KH Engineering as an opportunity to further pursue hybrid working. Business Unit Manager Mark Senten explains: 'From KH Engineering's Antwerp branch, we serve our clients with all the usual technical engineering disciplines. We work with approximately one hundred colleagues on very diverse and often complex projects. Cooperation and consultation are crucial ingredients for us to be successful. The move to the new office complex "The Sage" is a logical step at the right time for us. Our old accommodation was fine, but rather business-like and 'old school'. Behind the scenes, we were already fully 'in the cloud', so that we could easily switch to working from home during the pandemic. In the new situation, we are going towork much more hybrid: partly at home or elsewhere, and partly in the office. We have designed the office accordingly, with much more focus on consultation. Classic workstations - now more ergonomic and practical - are still there, but fewer of them. In addition, there will be all kinds of consultation areas: for formal consultation there are two large and four smaller meeting rooms, all equipped with the latest gadgets for hybrid conferencing with Microsoft Teams technology. There is also much more space for informal consultation, in which our Dining plays a central role.

Ample parking options

Over the past eighteen months, we have all experienced that you can do a lot of work from home or another location. In practice, we have been working outside the office for a while now, at least two days a week. For this purpose, KH has concluded a telework agreement with its employees, so that everyone can also work ergonomically at home, and has sufficient ICT equipment of their own to work in a corona-proof manner at any location.

The office looks more pleasant and modern than before: The Sage is equipped with all conveniences, such as a company restaurant, a sandwich shop, a fitness club and an ironing service. Extra meeting rooms can also be booked on request, for example for customer meetings. After all, the office is equipped to offer clients a warm welcome as well, including ample parking space with charging facilities for electric cars. We hope that the situation will soon return to normal so that we can invite our customers to optimise our cooperation even further over a cup of coffee.
