A DAY IN THE LIFE OF .... DONG LY, PROJECT LEADER AND COORDINATOR INSPECTION TEAM

Depending on my first appointment, my alarm goes off somewhere between 6 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. Within an hour I’m in the car and drive from my hometown Purmerend to an office in Amsterdam or my temporary workplace at Schiphol.
Workplace
Just like dozens of other KH colleagues, I have been working mainly at the customer's location at Schiphol for a while. From the Hangar, where there are also offices, I overlook on the hustle and bustle of air traffic.
GET STARTED WITH NEN 3140
We support our customers with all safety & compliance issues. In the field of electrical safety, we offer our customers a complete package to comply with the NEN 3140 standard. This standard concerns "Operation of electrical installations - Low voltage". The NEN 3140 standard contains provisions for safe working, maintenance and inspections of electrical installations. In fact, it means that after carrying out the inspection and solving any defects that may have arisen, you will have a demonstrably safe electrical installation in your building and thus comply with that part of the Working Conditions Act. After all, everyone must be able to stay and work safely in your building (s). We develop the policy for customers, we make a manual, we support the implementation of a safe business organization and we provide periodic inspections in this field of expertise.
INSPECTION MEETING
Prior to the periodic inspection of an electrical installation, all stakeholders must be informed and be able to give their input. For one of the items of such an inspection, the installation must temporarily be voltage free. But that should never disrupt the important business processes (for a large number of customers). For a coordination meeting, I sit with various representatives including: the users, the area manager, the technical manager of the building, the facility services provider, the ICT department, the telecom providers, the installation manager etc.
MORE INSPECTIONS
We have plans to expand KH Engineering's inspection services. For example, we are considering focusing on On-deliverance inspections, inspections of electrical work equipment (appliances) and fire risk inspections, which are increasingly required by insurance companies. We can also supply installation managers and supervisors from our inspection team.
Taekwondo
I return home between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. At home my wife, son (3) and daughter (8) are waiting for me. Today it will be a quick bite to eat, because I go to Taekwondo training with my daughter. I myself have a passion for that sport, I was once even a Dutch and European Youth Champion. I think it is wonderful that she shares my passion! After training, preparing for the night begins. Read a little bedtime story and the children go to bed at 8.30 pm. The day is over!
COMPLY WITH ALL MEASURES
Even during the corona crisis, the NEN 3140 team of specialists will continue to work for our customers. They adhere to the guidelines of the RIVM, but also to any additional requirements of the customer. Barrier tape is used to maintain a safe distance during work (eg risks of arc flashes ) and to comply with the 1.5 meter social distancing guideline.
